GRANTHAM, PA - The CMSV Men's Basketball team wrapped up play at the TownPlace Suites Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday afternoon, as they took on Immaculata University. The Mighty Macs downed the Dolphins 83-70 dropping CMSV to 1-2 on the season.
Ammad Alkhulaidi led the team with 20 points and 10 rebounds to notch his second double-double in three games, while
Kahlil Shorter scored a career-high 17 points, thanks to a perfect 4-for-4 shooting performance from 3-point land.
Early on in the first half, the Mount stayed close with the Macs but after Alkhulaidi made two free throws to cut the lead to four points with 8:38 left in the half, the Macs would outscore the Dolphins 20-12 over the final 8+ minutes to take a 12 point lead going into halftime.
The Dolphins survived a poor shooting performance in the first half by getting to the free throw line 27 times in the first half, converting 21 of their attempts, despite shooting 21% from the field and 12% from 3-point land.
In the second half, the Dolphins were able to find some offensive flow shooting 47% from the field but the Macs matched them as they maintained a double-digit lead for the majority of the second half and cruise to a 13 point win over the Dolphins.
