Dolphins Fall 2-1 In Skyline Match-up Vs. Old Westbury

Julius Tumukunde Scores Lone CMSV Goal

OLD WESTBURY, NY - The CMSV Men's Soccer team returned to action Tuesday night, facing off against Skyline Conference foe Old Westbury. The Dolphins surrendered two first half goals and were unable to get all the way back as they fell to the Panthers 2-1, dropping the Mount's record to 4-7-1 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

The home side controlled possession in the first half, as they attempted nine shots while holding the Dolphins without for the first 45 minutes of action.

The Panthers took the lead in the 9' on Seaton Cole's second of the season, as he headed in a corner kick sent into the box by James Marchena. Just over 20 minutes later the home side put in another goal to take a 2-0 lead on Fabrizio Chamorro's second of the season.

To open up play in the second half, the Dolphins held possession for the first few minutes and were awarded a corner kick in the 48' but Andrew Gomez's shot attempt off of that corner was blocked by the Panthers back-line. Seconds later as the Dolphins looked to regroup, they were whistled for an offside in their offensive zone, surrendering possession.

The next wave of Dolphins offensive pressure started in the 55' minute but Jair Magallan had his attempt blocked, finally, in the 57' Guy Horcasitas was able to connect with Julius Tumukunde in the six yard box to score his second of the season.

Over the final 30 + minutes of play, the Panthers once again regained possession of the ball, not allowing the Dolphins much possession and holding CMSV without a shot over that time.
