RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Women's Volleyball team returned to action on Monday night, hosting Mount Saint Mary's College, in a pivotal Skyline Conference match. The visiting Knights won an epic 5-set battle (18-25, 25-20, 25-21, 24-26, 11-15), to drop the Dolphins record to 10-17 overall and 6-3 in conference play.
Freshman
Tara Maloney led all players with 27 kills, she was also second on the team with 20 digs.
After dropping the opening set, the Dolphins responded winning sets 2 & 3, playing a precise game will excellent passing. The Dolphins attack in the third set was strong, totaling 19 kills in that set alone, while hitting a robust .378%.
The Knights took advantage of their strong service game as they totaled 10 aces and they had strong middle play totaling nine team blocks, which stifled some of the Dolphins attack.

Shannon Walsh, the lone senior member of the 2016 Women's Volleyball team. Walsh has been a four year member of the team and has played in over 100 sets during her four years at the Mount. Also, the Athletic Department invited back the entire 2015 Women's Volleyball team to reveal their 2015 NCAA Qualifier banner, which will now hang from the rafters in the Peter Jay Sharp Center.
