Bronx, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team dropped a tough 2-1 non-conference road decision at John Jay on Friday afternoon. Senior
Michael Kuczinski (Millstone Twp., N.J.) worked 6.0 strong innings on the mound for the Mount and drove in the team's only run of the game.

Mount Saint Vincent got on the board first on Friday, plating its only run of the day in the fifth inning to break a scoreless tie.
Christian Baptiste (Bronx, N.Y.) started things for the Dolphins with a one out triple and later scored on a run scoring single from Kuczinski.

The Dolphins' held on to the one lead until the bottom of the sixth when John Jay evened the game at 1-1. Nestor Amarante put runners on second and third with a two-out double before Jason Gonzalez pushed home Brian Cabral with a two-out single.

The Bloodhounds went on to score the game winning run in the seventh inning when Esteban Soler drove home Nick Gioia with a double. The one run lead held up, as the Mount was retired in order in the eighth and ninth innings.

Kuczinski worked the first 6.0 innings for the Dolphins on Friday, allowing a run on four base hits. He struck out one and walked five in a no-decision. Sophomore
Cristian Lynch (Mastic, N.Y.) was saddled with the loss, falling to 1-1 on the season. He worked 2.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits. David Schilwachter picked up the complete game win for John Jay, surrendering a run on two hits and striking out five.

Mount Saint Vincent managed just two hits in the game, with Baptiste and Kuczinski each going 1-for-3.
Nicholas Pace (Cranford, N.J.) drew one of three walks given up by Schilwachter and stole his 25
th base of the season.

Friday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 7-20 overall on the season. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Saturday when they travel to Farmingdale State for a key Skyline Conference set with the Rams. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
