Purchase, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball split a Skyline Conference doubleheader with Farmingdale State on Saturday afternoon, downing the Rams 5-4 on a walk-off single in game one and falling by a score of 10-1 in game two.
Kierstyn Bourdeau (Cheshire, Conn.) knocked in the winning run for the Dolphins in the opener.

Mount Saint Vincent opened a 4-0 lead on Farmingdale State in game one on Saturday after plating single runs in the first and fourth innings and a pair of runs in the fifth.
Mackenzie Heizer (Vacaville, Calif.) drove in a run in the first with a two-out single and delivered another run in the fifth with a double down the left field line.

The Rams got on the board in the sixth inning when Meghan Acton doubled home a run and knotted the score at 4-4 with three runs in the top of the seventh. Michelle Mongiello cut the Rams' deficit to 4-2 with a run scoring single and Lori Michalowski tied the score with a two-run, two-out single to center field.

The Dolphins got off to a fast start in the home half of the seventh when
Kathryn Dalton (Northampton, Pa.) led off the frame with a single.
Rachel Heizer (Vacaville, Calif.) followed with a walk and after a fielder's choice put runners on the corners with one out, Bourdeau shot a single through the right side to give the Dolphins their third straight victory.

Mackenzie Heirzer led the Dolphins with two of the team's eight hits, scoring a run and driving in two.
Rachel Heizer drew four walks in the game and scored a run with Dalton,
Joann Guerra (Bronx, N.Y.) and
Rianna Laughridge (Vacaville, Calif.) all posting a hit and a run. Bourdeau rounded out the game 1-for-4 with the game winning RBI.

Mackenzie Heizer picked up her third win of the season in the circle, working a complete game and allowing three earned runs on eight hits. He struck out seven and walked two as she moved to 3-5 on the season. Taylor Webb took a no decision after working 6.0 innings, with Taylor Tedeschi talking the loss after allowing one run in 0.1 innings.

In game two, the Rams got all the scoring they needed in the top of the first, plating two runs on two hits. The Dolphins answered with a run in the bottom of the inning on run scoring single from Heizer, but Farmingdale State plated five runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth to pull away for the victory.

Andrea Klarman drove in a run for the visitors in the fourth and Allison Daley delivered two runs in the inning before Klarman connected on a home run to left center field in the fifth to push the Rams in front 9-1.

Mount Saint Vincent was held to just four hits in game two with Bourdeau going 2-for-2.
Mackenzie Heizer produced a hit and an RBI and
Celestina Alfaro (Norwalk, Calif.) recorded a hit in two at bats for the Dolphins.

Klarman drove in three runs for Farmingdale State in game two, going 2-for-3 with three runs. Meagan Anderson added two hits and three runs scored and Mongeillo crossed with a pair of runs for the visitors.

Senior
Kathleen Davis (Beacon, N.Y.) took the loss and fell to 2-5 on the season. She worked 3.1 innings and surrendered five runs on eight hits, striking out four. Tedeschi rebounded to earn the game two win, firing a complete game, striking out two batters.

With the split on Saturday, Mount Saint Vincent moves to 8-15 overall on the season and to 7-2 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will return to action on Sunday when they play host to Mount Saint Mary. First pitch at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. is set for 12:00 p.m.
