Throggs Neck, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Lacrosse team suffered its seventh straight loss to open the season on Wednesday afternoon following a 10-2 Skyline Conference loss to Maritime. Senior

Mount Saint Vincent was held off the board in the first quarter, allowing three Maritime tallies in the opening stanza. Ian Danahy scored twice for the Privateers in the first quarter to help the visitors build the early lead. Following Wednesday's opening period, the Mount has been outscored in the first quarter 25-10 this season.

Trailing 3-0, Mount Saint Vincent got on the board late in the second frame to cut its deficit to 3-1 heading into halftime.
Germain Ngaba (Bronx, N.Y.) scored his team leading 12
th goal of the season, an unassisted tally, with four seconds left before the intermission.

The Dolphins were outshot 23-10 in the first half on Wednesday with Maritime holding a 21-13 advantage in groundballs and a 4-1 edge in face-off wins.

Maritime opened the game up with four straight goals to start the third quarter, building a 7-1 lead on a Danahy goal at the 7:35 mark of the third period. The Dolphins got back on the board on a
Pat McEnaney (New York, N.Y.) goal at the 5:12 mark of the quarter, but three goals from the Privateers in the fourth quarter sealed the victory.

McEnaney scored his ninth goal of the season with
Connor McBride (Monroe, N.Y.) recording his second assist of the season on the goal. McEnaney joined Maddaloni and
Josh James (Brooklyn, N.Y.) with three groundballs in the game. Maddaloni caused a game-high five turnovers.

Danahy led Maritime with six points, scoring three times and assisting on three others. Kevin Izzo scored twice and added an assist, while Matt Hayes picked up nine groundballs and went 12-for-14 in face-offs for the Privateers.

Ben Gashi (Bronx, N.Y.) suffered the loss for Mount Saint Vincent in goal. He made six saves in the game and led the team with four groundballs. Brendan McNally earned the win with 14 saves, adding three groundballs.

For the game, Mount Saint Vincent was outshot 34-27, while shots on goal were even at 16-16. The Privateers took the advantage in groundballs 41-32 and dominated face-offs 12-2. The Dolphins went 9-for-14 in clearing chances in the game and went 0-for-6 with the man advantage.

Wednesday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 0-7 overall on the season and to 0-2 in Skyline Conference play. Next up for the Dolphins is a non-conference road game at SUNYIT on April 8. Face-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
