Bronx, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team was upended on Friday evening at Lehman in five sets by scores of 29-31, 27-25, 25-20, 23-25, 10-15. Freshman
Neven Skoblar (San Pedro, Calif.) rounded out the match with a career-high 20 kills, while classmate
Logan Dickover (Las Vegas, Nev.) handed out a career best 56 assists.

The first two sets on Friday went past 25 points with Lehman overcoming a 29-28 deficit in the first set, on the strength of two Mount Saint Vincent attack errors, to take an early 1-0 lead. Mount Saint Vincent evened the match in the second frame with a kill from Skoblar to push the Mount to a 27-25 second set victory.

Mount Saint Vincent took the third set with 13 kills to open a 2-1 lead over the Lightning. The Dolphins took advantage of six Lehman attack errors and four service miscues to pick up the third set win. The Dolphins used a 5-0 spurt in the middle of the set, keyed by two service aces from
Marc Barreda (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and a kill from Skoblar to open a 20-12 lead.

Lehman rallied to tie the match at two sets apiece in the fourth and totaled nine kills in the fifth set to steal the victory from the Mount. The Lightning scored six of the final seven points of the final set, including a kill from Carlos Segura to close out the match.

Skoblar posted seven of his career-high 20 kills in the first set on Friday and finished the match hitting .192 for the Dolphins. He added 11 digs for Mount Saint Vincent and closed out a strong match with four blocks and two aces.

Senior
Brett Holiday (Stratford, N.J.) reached double-figures in kills for the fourth time this season, posting a season-high 17 winners against Lehman. He hit .333 in the match and totaled eight blocks for the Mount.

Freshman
Michael Kochen (Holbrook, N.Y.) rounded out a trio in double-figures in kills for the Mount with 12 kills on Friday. He added 10 digs for the Mount and was one of three players to record a double-double for the Dolphins.

Dickover registered 56 assists in the match and added 10 assists with Barreda posting seven winners and lifting a career-high 21 digs. Senior
Reginald Owens (Staten Island, N.Y.) closed out the night with three blocks for the Dolphins.

Lehman was led by a match-high 24 kills from Jaleel Lino who equaled the match-high with 21 digs. Emmanuel Diaz handed out 27 assists for the Lightning with Miguel Gallardo closing the night with 14 kills, 19 assists and 13 digs.

Overall, Mount Saint Vincent finished the night with a 62-50 advantage in kills and a slim 7-5 edge in service aces. The Dolphins also finished the night with a 12-8 edge in total team blocks.

With Friday's loss, Mount Saint Vincent falls to 12-8 overall. The Dolphins will return to conference play on Sunday when they travel to Union, N.J. to take on #5 Kean and Yeshiva. Matches are set to start at 11:00 a.m.
