Brooklyn, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team opened the 2015 season on Friday with a pair of conference wins over Yeshiva, downing the Maccabees 12-2 and 11-0. Sophomore
Evan Brown (St. Albans, N.Y.) worked a complete game shutout for the Dolphins in the second game of the conference set.

In Friday's opener, Mount Saint Vincent got all the scoring it needed in the first three innings. The Mount put three runs on the board in the first, getting run scoring base hits from
Keith Schroeher (Riverhead, N.Y.),
Craig Weber (Mineola, N.Y.) and
Steven Giustino (Old Bethpage, N.Y.).

The Dolphins added another run in the second frame when
Casey Surdi (West Babylon, N.Y.) scored on a
Nicholas Pace (Cranford, N.J.) infield single and broke the game open with two more runs in the third. Mount Saint Vincent closed out the scoring in the game with six runs in its final three at-bats. A three run sixth inning was sparked by Weber double that drove in Schroeher.

The Mount pounded out 13 hits in the game one win, collecting four extra base hits. Schroeher, Weber Surdi and
Joseph Senisi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) each posted two hits apiece, with Schroeher ripping a pair of doubles. Four players scored two runs for the Dolphins and Senisi led the team with three RBI.

Sophomore
Robert Negron (Bronx, N.Y.) picked up the complete game win and moved to 1-0 in game one. He struck out five Yeshiva batters in the game and allowed four walks. Jonathan Gardner suffered the loss, fanning four.

Mount Saint Vincent got off to another quick start in game two, plating seven runs in its first three turns at-bats. Junior
Tyler Krolikowski (Massapequa, N.Y.) drove home two runs with a double in the first, with Weber and Senisi each driving in runs with singles in the second frame.

Pace highlighted a three run third frame with a two-run single through the right side before the Dolphins scored four runs in their final two at-bats without getting a hit.

Weber and Senisi each finished game two with a pair of hits with Senisi scoring three runs and stealing three of the team's 11 bases in game two. Pace joined Krolikowski with a pair of RBI.

Brown picked up his second career win and his second career shutout with 7.0 strong innings on Friday. He struck out four batters and did not issue a walk.

With Friday's sweep, Mount Saint Vincent stands at 2-0 overall and 2-0 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will be back in action on Sunday when they take on FDU-Florham Winter Haven, Fla. First pitch with the Devils is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
