Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team recorded a season-high 21 service aces and sophomore
Tyler Cucullu (Henderson, Nev.) put away a match-high 10 kills in a 25-7, 25-16, 25-14 home non-conference win over Staten Island on Monday night.

The Mount trailed just once on the night after surrendering the first point of the third frame after jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead in the match. A six points run from Mount Saint Vincent, keyed by two aces and a kill from
Logan Dickover (Las Vegas, Nev.), erased the deficit early in the third as the Dolphins allowed consecutive points in the set just once.

Mount Saint Vincent opened the contest hitting .471 in the opening set and then registered a .611 attack percentage in the second frame to open the commanding advantage. The Mount totaled nine service aces in the first frame on Monday, led by three from Cucullu, and posted seven more in the third set, with Dickover registering four.

Cucullu rounded out the night hitting .615 for the Dolphins after posting 10 kills and committing just a pair of miscues in 13 attempts. He finished the night with four aces, three digs and a blocks for the Mount.

Freshman
Marc Barreda (Bay Shore, N.Y.) continued the strong start to the 2015 season with seven kills for Mount Saint Vincent, hitting .364 in the match. Dickover and
Michael Kochen (Holbrook, N.Y.) each posted four aces in the match, with Dickover adding four kills and Kochen lifting four digs.

Senior
James DiGiovanni (Bay Shore, N.Y.) handed out a match-high 28 assists on Monday and equaled the team-high with four digs for the Dolphins.
Kevin Magee (Rockaway Park, N.Y.) led the Mount with three total blocks on the night.

Overall in the match, Mount Saint Vincent held a 34-10 advantage in kills, a 21-2 edge in service aces and won the battle at the bet with a 6-1 edge in total team blocks.

At 6-4 overall on the season, Mount Saint Vincent will return to Skyline Conference play on Saturday when it welcomes Ramapo and Purchase to the Peter Jay Sharp Center. The Dolphins and Roadrunners will square off at 12:00 p.m. and the Mount and Purchase will get underway at 2:00 p.m.
