Dolphins Fall 69-62 In Williams Invitational Final

Late Comeback Not Enough

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - The CMSV Men's Basketball team lost 69-62 to Williams College in the championship game of the Williams Invitational Tip-off Tournament. The Dolphins had four players score in double figures, led by sophomore Jamir Ferebee who scored 14 points.

The first half was close for the majority of the period with the Dolphins sticking close to the Ephs pulling to within one after a jumper by Trevor Johnson made the score 16-15. Johnson scored another bucket a few minutes later to pull the team within two, which is as close as they would get for the remainder of the half.

The Ephs would end the half on a 10-3 run to take a 36-27 lead at the half.

In the second half, the Dolphins worked hard to chip away at the lead pulling to within one after a 3-pointer from Ammad Alkhulaidi made the score 39-38. Three minutes later, Alkulaidi would strike again from distance to tie the score at 41.

The Dolphins would take the lead after a 3 from Ferebee gave the team a 49-46 lead, but the Ephs would tie it back up on the next possesion with a three of their own.

Madison Martinez would hit two free throws to pull the Dolphins back within one at 62-61, but that would be as close as they would get the rest of the game as the Ephs ended the game on an 7-1 run to win 69-62.

The Dolphins return to action November 24th when they open up Skyline Conference play against Yeshiva University.
