BROOKLYN, NY - The CMSV Men's Basketball team kicked off the 2015-16 season on Tuesday night, taking on Division I foe St. Francis-Brooklyn. The Dolphins lost 93-67 to the Terriers, falling to 0-1 on the season.
Sophomore
Jamir Ferebee led the Dolphins scoring a career-high 24 points, on 9-of-15 shooting from the field, he also grabbed six rebounds.
Ammad Alkhulaidi chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds, as he and Ferebee were the only players in double figures for the Dolphins.
A slow start offensively put the Dolphins behind the Terriers early on, as it took them nearly six minutes to record their first field goal.
Eventually, the offense began to click as the Dolphins would chip away at the Terriers lead cutting the lead down to six (26-20) after a
Kahlil Shorter three-pointer with 5:37 left in the first half, which would be as close as they would get for the rest of the half.
The Terriers closed out the first half on a 19-7 to take a 45-27 lead into intermission.
Both teams had the offense going in the 2nd half but the Terriers shot 14-of-25 from the field (56%) including 8-of-15 from distance (53.3%), overpowering the Dolphins defense.
Alkhulaidi scored all of his points in the 2nd half while Ferebee put in 13 of his 24 in the 2nd half.
The Dolphins return to action this weekend as they will head to Williamstown, MA to take part in the Williams College Tournament on Friday November 20 and Saturday November 21. They will take on SUNY New Paltz on Friday night at 6pm and will play either Williams College or Salem State on Saturday.
