RIVERDALE, NY - In front of family and friends on Senior Night, the CMSV Dolphins swept the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels 3-0, winning by the scores of 25-15, 25-9 and 25-10.
With the win the Dolphins improve to 10-13 on the year with the Blue Angels falling to 16-9.
The first set went back and forth early on with the Dolphins and Blue Angles trading points. After a kill by senior
Ashleigh Scozzari gave the team a 15-10 lead, the Dolphins took control of the set outscoring CNR 10-5 and
Nicole Henderson closed the first set by securing the 25-10 set win with a service ace.
The Dolphins dominated the second set jumping out to an early 14-1 lead thanks to great serving by
Patsy Sewell and attack play by Scozzari. The Dolphins attack combined for 14 kills in the set compared to only two by the Blue Angels.
In the third set the Dolphins once again jumped all over the Blue Angles early and often claiming an 11-2 lead thanks to strong attack play from Scozzari and
Maria Leineweber. The Dolphins combined for 15 kills en route to a 25-10 clinching victory.
Scozzari led all players with 22 kills and five blocks, while Henderson tallied 26 assists with Leineweber and
Chrissy Sewell chipping in with 10 and nine digs respectively.
The Dolphins return to action Saturday October 24th when they take on The College at Old Westbury and Mount Saint Mary's College in a Skyline Conference Tri-Match on the campus of MSMC.
