Men’s Lacrosse Falls On The Road At Bard

Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Lacrosse team was downed on the road at Bard on Saturday evening by a score of 20-12. Four Dolphins scored at least two goals in the game, led by four tallies from sophomore Mike McEnaney (New York, N.Y.).
 
The two teams played an even first quarter on Saturday, alternating goals over the opening 15 minutes. McEnaney got the scoring started in the game with Pat McEnaney (New York, N.Y.) and Charles Lloyd (Wheatley, N.Y.) adding first quarter goals for the Mount. Lloyd also picked up an assist on the Dolphins' first goal of the night.
 
Bard would score three more times in the second stanza and held the Mount to just one goal on its way to a 6-4 halftime advantage. D.J. Peters found the back of the cage twice in the period for the Raptors, while Germain Ngaba (Bronx, N.Y.) tallied for the Dolphins with 2:17 left before halftime.
 
The two teams were close in nearly every statistical category in the first 30 minutes of play, with the Dolphins holding a slim 19-17 edge in shots and Bard holding an 18-9 advantage in groundballs. Mount Saint Vincent won six of the 11 face-offs taken in the half.
 
Bard would come out of halftime and break the game open with nine goals in the third period. The Raptors scored eight straight goals after halftime before Ngaba got the Mount back on the board with 3:10 left in the third period. Henry Blosfelds scored three times in the period for Bard.
 
The Dolphins would score six times in the final stanza, but could never get closer than seven goals. Mike and Pat McEnaney each scored twice in the frame for the Mount, while Lloyd scored one and assisted on two other goals in the quarter.
 
Mike McEnaney rounded out the game with four goals for the Mount, while Pat McEnaney finished with three tallies. Ngaba finished with four points on two goals and two assists and Lloyd scored twice and helped on three other goals.

John Petito (Staten Island, N.Y.) led the Mount with four groundballs in the game and won a team-high 13 face-offs. Frank Maddaloni (Bronx, N.Y.) added three groundballs with Petito and Liam McHugh (Ardsley, N.Y.) each causing two turnovers.
 
Bard was paced by six goals and seven points from Mat Livermore with George Goceljak netting five goals and Blosfelds tallying four times. Goceljak and Brad Whitaker each caused three turnovers to lead the Raptors.
 
Senior Kyle Kalibat (Oceanside, N.Y.) made eight saves for the Dolphins, while John Henry Glascock stopped 20 shots for Bard and led the team with four groundballs.
 
Bard outshot Mount Saint Vincent in the game 48-44, while Mount Saint Vincent finished with a 32-28 edge in shots on goal. Groundballs went to Bard in the game 26-21 and the Dolphins took the edge in face-offs 19-16.
 
Saturday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 6-8 overall on the season. The Dolphins will close out the 2014 season on Wednesday when they travel to Bryn Athyn. Face-off for the season finale is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
