Bronxville, N.Y.- The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball squad had its seven game winning streak snapped on Thursday with a 4-0 loss to St. Joseph's-L.I. The Dolphins, who wrapped up the league doubleheader against the Golden Eagles that was halted by rain on March 29, were led by two hits each from Leeann Cerbone (Bronx, N.Y.), Kathryn Dalton (Northampton, Pa.) and Kathleen Davis (Beacon, N.Y.).

St. Joseph's-L.I. would get all the scoring it needed in its first at-bat on Thursday, plating a pair of unearned runs. Megan Leun crossed with the eventual game winning run on a throwing error and Julianne Tierney later crossed on a wild pitch for an early 2-0 lead.

The Golden Eagles added a third unearned run in the third inning on another throwing error from the Dolphins and closed out the scoring in the fourth inning when Leun delivered Cheyenne Raimondi with a sacrifice fly for the team's only earned run of the game.

Mount Saint Vincent would load the bases with two outs in the sixth inning, but was unable to break through on St. Joseph's starter Cassie Martinez. Dalton singled with one out and Mackenzie Heizer (Vacaville, Calif.) and Davis singled with two outs in the frame but were stranded. The Dolphins got a base runner in their final at-bat, but the runner never advanced past first.

Mount Saint Vincent outhit St. Joseph's in the game 8-7, with Cerbone, Dalton and Davis each going 2-for-3. Joann Guerra (Bronx, N.Y.) and Heizer picked up the other hits, both singles, for the Mount in the game.

Lindsey Corriss wrapped up the game 3-for-3 for the Golden Eagles with Tierney scoring a pair of runs. Leun and and Raimondi each scored a run for the visitors with Leun recording in the only RBI of the contest.

Martinez picked up the win for St. Joseph's, going the distance and surrendering eight hits. She struck out seven Mount Saint Vincent hitters. Davis took the loss and fell to 8-3 for the Mount, working three unearned runs on three hits in 3.0 innings. Heizer worked the final 4.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits.

Thursday's loss to the Godlen Eagles drops Mount Saint Vincent to 21-5 overall and to 9-5 in league play. The Dolphins will await results from the weekend on Skyline Conference Tournament seeding.
