Bronx, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team completed a four game weekend series sweep over Lehman and pushed its winning streak to four games with 12-4 and 13-7 road wins on Sunday afternoon. Senior
Tyler Rieth (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) drove in three runs in game one and
Nicholas Pace (Cranford, N.J.) collected three RBI in game two.

Mount Saint Vincent jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning in game one.
Keith Schroeher (Riverhead, N.Y.) led the game off with a double and later scored the first run of the game on a balk. Rieth later drove home the next two runs of the inning with a two-out ground rule double.

The Lightning pulled in front 4-3 with a four run third inning. Michael Liang and Socrates Peralta both drove home runs with walks in the inning. The Lightning recorded just two hit in the frame and took advantage of one Mount Saint Vincent error.

The Dolphins answered with four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to break the game open.
Casey Surdi (West Babylon, N.Y.) hit a run scoring double and
Robert Drake (Staten Island, N.Y.) drove home a pair of runs with a single in the fourth. In the fifth,
Leutrim 'Tim' Hoxha (Forest Hills, N.Y.) ripped a two run double in the fifth to give the Dolphins a 10-4 lead.

Schroeher finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and three runs scored. Surdi continued his strong early season play with a 2-for-2 effort with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Rieth closed the game with three RBI and walked twice to go along with a double.
Josh Sharpe (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and
Jason Rivera (Bronx, N.Y.) each scored three runs in the game.

Robert Negron (Bronx, N.Y.) picked up his first career win in relief in game one with 4.1 scoreless innings. He struck out three batter and walked two in the outing.

In game two, the Mount got out to a 2-0 lead in its first at-bat. Sharpe drove home Schroeher with a single to open the scoring and then later scored on a passed ball for the early two run advantage.

Lehman responded with five runs in the bottom half of the second inning to move in front by three runs before the Dolphins responded with four runs each in the third and fourth innings. Pace delivered a two-run single in the fourth inning.

The Dolphins went on to plate three more runs in the seventh inning to reach their season-high in runs scored. Surdi plated a run with a double in the inning and later scored on an RBI single from Pace.

Pace was the only Mount Saint Vincent player to post more than one hit in the game after going 2-for-4 with a run and three RBI.
Mike Esposito (Rockaway Park, N.Y.) scored two runs and drove in two with Schroeher, Surdi and Sharpe all scoring twice. Mount Saint Vincent was hit with 10 pitches in the game.

Sean Kanganis (Somers, N.Y.) earned his first career win after coming on to work 4.1 scoreless innings in relief. He allowed four hits and struck out five in his second outing of the season.

With the weekend sweep, Mount Saint Vincent moves to 4-6 overall on the season. The Dolphins will look for their fifth straight win on Wednesday when they travel to John Jay. First pitch with the Bloodhounds is set for 4:00 p.m.
