Patchogue, N.Y. – Paced by strong starting pitching performances from senior Brian Rush (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and sophomore Tyler Krolikowski (Massapequa, N.Y.), the College of Mount Saint Vincent Baseball team scored 8-2 and 9-2 wins over Lehman on Saturday. Both starters for the Mount picked up their first wins of the season.

In Saturday's opener, Mount Saint Vincent broke through with a run in the second and three in the fourth to open a 4-0 lead. Tyler Rieth (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) got the Mount on the board in the second with a run scoring double and Mike Esposito (Rockaway Park, N.Y.) and Casey Surdi (West Babylon, N.Y.) sparked the fourth inning rally with a run scoring double and single, respectively.

After Lehman sliced its deficit in half with a pair of runs in the fifth, the Dolphins came right back with four more tallies in the home half of the inning to close out the scoring. Josh Sharpe (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) plated two runs with a triple and Leutrim 'Tim' Hoxha (Forest Hills, N.Y.) and Rieth added RBI singles to add to the lead.

Rieth was the only Mount Saint Vincent player with more than one hit in the game, going 2-for-2 with an RBI. Jason Rivera (Bronx, N.Y.) scored two runs for the Dolphins and Sharpe joined Rieth with two RBI.

Rush moved to 1-2 on the season after working 5.0 effective innings. He allowed two earned runs on three hits in the game and stuck out two. Dan DiLascio (Yonkers, N.Y.) came on to work the final 2.0 innings, allowing one hit and fanning two Lehman hitters.

Krolikowski worked his first career complete game in the game two win, working 7.0 innings and striking out eight. He allowed two earned runs in the game and had a string of 15.2 scoreless innings pitched to start the season snapped on a two-run double from Lehman's Stephen Smith in the fifth innings.

Mount Saint Vincent gave Krolikowski an early lead when it plated a first inning run on a double steal attempt. Keith Schroeher (Riverhead, N.Y.) crossed after Sharpe was hung up in a run down for the early 1-0 advantage.

The one run lead would stand until the Dolphins extended the lead to 8-0 when it exploded for seven runs in the fourth inning. The Dolphins got an RBI single from Surdi and a two-run single from Sharpe before Rivera blasted a grand slam down the right field line to cap the scoring in the inning. It was Rivera's team leading second round tripper of the season and it moves him into fourth place on the all-time list with six home runs.

Eight of the nine position players for the Mount finished game two with a hit, including Schroeher and Sharpe who each scored two runs for the Dolphins. Rivera led the Mount with four RBI and added a run scored.

Saturday's sweep gets Mount Saint Vincent into the win column for the first time in 2014 and improves it to 2-6 overall on the season. The Dolphins will close out a four game weekend series with the Lightning on Sunday afternoon with a road set at Lehman. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
