Bristol, R.I. – In its second competition of the 2014-15 season, the College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Wrestling team totaled 14.5 points and finished 11
th on Saturday at the Roger Williams Invitational. Freshman
James Slendorn (Farmingdale, N.Y.) finished the day with three victories.
Competing in the 133 pound weight class, Slendorn posted a 3-2 record on Saturday for the Dolphins and advanced to the fifth place bout. He scored a fall 46 seconds into his second bout of the day before posting a 4-2 decision to advance in the bracket. He dropped a tough 5-4 decision in the fifth place bout.
Mount Saint Vincent also received strong efforts on Saturday from
Christian Hilario (Haverstraw, N.Y.) who won a bout in the 125 pound division and
Axel Urgiles (North Bergen, N.J.) who picked up a victory in the 141 pound weight class.
Following Saturday's strong effort, Mount Saint Vincent will be off until it opens dual meet competition on December 10 at New York University. Match time with the Violets and Yeshiva is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
