Bronxville, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team got back into the win column on Monday night with a 25-15, 25-13, 23-25 and 25-14 road win at Sarah Lawrence. Sophomore
Brett Holiday (Stratford, N.J.) finished with 15 kills and
James DiGiovanni (Bay Shore, N.Y.) handed out 34 assists.
Holiday was one of two Dolphins in double-figures in kills with 15 and Monday's contest is the second straight in double-figures for Holiday. He rounded out a strong all-around night with five digs, three service aces and three total blocks.
Freshman
Dylan Lolli (Sicklerville, N.J.) also had a solid night for the Mount after totaling 13 kills and hitting a red-hot .571. Lolli committed just one attack error in 21 attempts and contributed three aces, two digs and a block.
DiGiovanni continued his strong play for Mount Saint Vincent as the team's primary setter with 34 helpers on Monday. He chipped in with two kills, a block and eight digs for the Mount.
Tyler Egan (Laurel Springs, N.J.) led Mount Saint Vincent with 12 digs in the match and
Gerard Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) closed the night with nine total blocks and six kills.
Harrison Holmes led Sarah Lawrence with a match-high 17 kills and Brent Terry totaled 26 assists. Riley Smith added a match-high 15 digs for the Gryphons.
Mount Saint Vincent closed the match with a 40-33 advantage in kills, while digs in the contest were even at 41-41. Mount Saint Vincent also held an 11-5 edge in service aces in the non-conference win.
Monday's victory pushes Mount Saint Vincent to 6-18 overall on the season. Next up for the Dolphins is the 2013 home finale on Thursday against Sage. Match time with the Gators is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
