Yonkers, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Lacrosse team dropped a Skyline Conference contest to visiting Farmingdale State on Saturday afternoon by a scored of 11-5. Junior Kyle Kalibat (Oceanside, N.Y.) made 13 saves in goal and Pat McEnaney (New York, N.Y.) led the offensive attack with three points.
 
After Farmingdale State got off to a 2-0 start in the first quarter, Mount Saint Vincent answered to tie the score with a pair of markers inside the final three minutes of the period. Adrian Go (Fairlawn, N.J.) got the Dolphins on the board with 2:29 left in the opening frame and McEnaney buried a feed from Mike McEnaney (New York, N.Y.) with 41 seconds left to get the Mount even.
 
After McEnaney's first of the game in the late stages of the first quarter, the Dolphins would not get on the board again until the sophomore attack struck with his second of the game with 5:26 left in the third quarter. Farmingdale State went on to outscore the Mount 4-1 over that stretch to build a 6-3 lead. Two of the goals came with the man advantage.
 
Trailing 7-3 after three quarters following a man-up goal from Matthew Finn, the Dolphins would be outscored 4-2 in the final period. Josh James (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and John Petito (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored for the Mount, but Bobby Thomas tallied twice in the stanza for the Rams to secure the win.
 
Thomas finished the game with five points after scoring twice and assisting on three other goals and also picked up four groundballs. Matthew Visintin added a pair of goals for Farmingdale State and an assist, while Matthew Finn potted four goals for the Rams. Jason Opitz came on to score once and assist on a pair of goals and also added four groundballs for the visitors.
 
McEnaney added an assist to his two goals to finish the afternoon with three points. Mike McEnaney handed out two assists for the Dolphins and picked up three groundballs. Petito led the team with five groundballs and Derek Wilson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) went 6-for-17 in face-offs.
 
Kalibat continued his strong play in goal for the Dolphins after stopping 13 shots and picking up a groundball on Saturday. He has made 35 stops in the last two outings for Mount Saint Vincent. Thomas Fallon finished the game with 14 stops for the Rams.
 
Farmingdale State closed the game with the edge in every team category on Saturday, outshooting the Dolphins 42-26, winning the groundball battle 38-26 and winning 11 of the 17 face-offs taken. Donovan Devaney rounded out the afternoon 8-for-12 in face-offs for the Rams and scooped three groundballs. The Rams also scored three man-up goals in the game.
 
Saturday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 5-8 overall and to 1-3 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Wednesday when they head to league foe Mount Saint Mary. Face-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
