Mount Saint Vincent Picks Up Four Set Victory At John Jay

New York, N.Y. – Led by a career-high 16 kills from freshman Dylan Lolli (Sicklerville, N.J.) and the second double-double of the season from James DiGiovanni (Bay Shore, N.Y.), the College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team scored a 25-17, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-19 road win at John Jay Monday night.
 
Monday's contest featured 19 ties and 10 lead changes, including seven ties in the first and third sets. The Dolphins put away at least 10 kills in each of the four sets to secure the win and hit a blistering .481 as a team in the opening stanza.
 
Lolli finished the night in double-figures in kills for the third time this season and hit .333 in the contest. He closed out the night with a service ace and a pair of digs for the Dolphins in the win.
 
Brett Holiday (Stratford, N.J.) posted a match-high 17 kills for the Dolphins on Monday and reached double-figures in the category for the third time this season and for the second time in the last four outings. Holiday also contributed four digs and two total blocks.
 
DiGiovanni collected his second double-double after handing out a career-high 43 assists and converting a career-best 11 service aces. The sophomore setter added five defensive digs and two block assists.
 
Mount Saint Vincent also received strong nights from Timothy Kolodny (Woodland Hills, Calif.) and Gerard Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.). Kolodny put away nine kills and lifted nine digs, while Fraser collected six kills and five total blocks. Tyler Egan (Laurel Springs, N.J.) led the Dolphins with 11 digs.
 
The Bloodhounds were led on the night by 16 kills and 11 digs from Yevgeniy Remennik. Nicholas Anderson dealt out 29 assists for John Jay, with Korede Griffith and Jack Palleschi each putting down six kills.
 
For the match, Mount Saint Vincent held the advantage in kills 55-29 and in service aces 16-3. The Dolphins also finished the night with a 7-6 edge in total team blocks.
 
With Monday's victory, Mount Saint Vincent improves to 4-11 overall on the season. Next up for the Dolphins is a home non-conference match against Lehman. The match with the Lightning is set for 7:00 p.m.
