Dolphins Dropped By Lehman, Bard

Brett Holiday posted 10 kills against Lehman on Saturday

Holiday totals 17 kills in two matches

Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team had its losing streak reach four matches on Saturday afternoon following a 22-25, 16-25 and 18-25 loss to Lehman and a 18-25, 16-25 and 19-25 loss to Bard. Sophomore Brett Holiday (Stratford, N.J.) led the Dolphins with 17 kills over the two contests.
 
In Saturday's opener against Lehman, Holiday put away 10 kills for the Dolphins and hit .292. He added three digs for the Dolphins in the loss. Gerard Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Timothy Kolodny (Woodland Hills, Calif.) each totaled five kills for the Mount with Kolodny adding a team-high 12 digs.
 
James DiGiovanni (Bay Shore, N.Y.) handed out 24 assists for the Dolphins against Lehman to go along with five digs and two service aces. Tyler Egan (Laurel Springs, N.J.) rounded out the contest with seven digs for Mount Saint Vincent.
 
Brian Francisco paced Lehman with nine kills, four aces and 12 digs, with Manuel Bonilla adding eight winners and nine digs. Luis Colon handed out 18 assists to lead the Lightning.
 
Kills in the match were even at 21-21, but Mount Saint Vincent committed 28 attack errors. Lehman lifted 41 digs to 36 for the Dolphins and the Mount held a slim 4.5-4 edge in total team blocks.
 
In the second match of the day, Holiday was again the team leader with seven kills. He also added three digs and a pair of total blocks for the Dolphins. Dylan Lolli (Sicklerville, N.J.) added six winners for the Mount and a team-high eight digs.
 
DiGiovanni finished the match with 16 assists for Mount Saint Vincent and he added three digs and two blocks. Fraser and Kolodny each put away three kills and Kolodny lifted five digs.
 
Kai Bernier-Chen and Billy Williams led the Bard offensive attack with nine kills each, with Bernier-Chen hitting an impressive .412 in the contest. Williams added seven digs and Bernier-Chen collected four total blocks. Henry Kasiske led all players with 28 assists against the Mount and totaled nine digs.
 
Bard held a 34-20 advantage in kills in the contest and committed just 10 errors on its way to hitting an efficient .316 as a team. The Raptors also held a 28-19 advantage in digs, while the Dolphins finished with a 7.5-4 edge in total team blocks.
 
Following Saturday's results, Mount Saint Vincent stands at 4-15 overall on the season. The Dolphins will be off until March 24 when they host Baruch, Cazenovia and Elmira. Matches get underway on Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
