New York, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team dropped its second straight match and its fourth in the last five outings on Monday night with a 11-25, 16-25 and 12-25 loss on the road at the City College of New York. Sophomore
Brett Holiday (Stratford, N.J.) led the Mount with six kills.
Holiday was the only Mount Saint Vincent player to register more then three kills on the evening and finished up the night with six digs for the Dolphins and a total block.
Gerard Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) added three winners for the Dolphins and a block.
Freshman
Dylan Lolli (Sicklerville, N.Y.) put away three kills for the Dolphins on Monday and led the team with seven digs. Classmate
Tyler Egan (Laurel Springs, N.J.) rounded out the match with six defensive digs for the Mount.
Sophomore
James DiGiovanni (Bay Shore, N.Y.) assisted on 10 of the team's 15 kills on the night to go along with a pair of kills, three digs and one of the squad's three service aces.
Cedric Ellison (Worcester, Mass.) added two blocks and an ace for the Dolphins.
CCNY was led by Brian Yik Lim who totaled nine kills and seven digs and Rubin Taipi who registered seven winners, six digs and four aces. Bryan Hu handed out a match-high 12 assists for the Beavers, with Derrell Williams leading all players with three total blocks.
For the match, CCNY put away 25 kills to 15 for Mount Saint Vincent and also held the edge in digs 39-28. The Beavers also rounded out the night with a slim 5-4 advantage in total team blocks.
With Monday's loss, the Mount stands at 4-13 overall on the season. The Dolphins will look to get back on track Saturday when they head to Bard to tussle with the host Raptors and Lehman. Matches for the Dolphins will begin at 2:00 p.m.
