Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team suffered an 11-25, 13-25, 16-25 loss to visiting Ramapo on Thursday evening in the team's 2013 home opener. Sophomore James DiGiovanni (Bay Shore, N.Y.) handed out 11 assists for the Mount, while three Dolphins posted a pair of total blocks.
 
Vin Calasso (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), Brett Holiday (Stratford, N.J.) and Dylan Lolli (Sicklerville, N.J.) led the offensive output for the Dolphins in the match with three kills apiece. Timothy Kolodny (Woodland Hills, Calif.) finished up with a pair of winners and five digs for the Mount.
 
Freshman Tyler Eagan (Laurel Springs, N.J.) matched the team-high with five digs for the Dolphins, with Lolli adding four.
 
DiGiovanni had a solid all-around night for Mount Saint Vincent against the Roadrunners after assisting on 11 of the team's 12 kills. He rounded out the evening with four digs and a pair of blocks.
 
Ramapo finished off the match with eight different players recording a kill, led by a match-high 11 from Peter Desavousges and eight more from Mike Kane. Desavousges hit an efficient .471 for the Roadrunners and also posted four digs and three service aces.
 
Harsh Parajapati led Ramapo with 18 assists to go along with five digs, with Chris Sidnam pacing the team with three total blocks. Nick Hrehovcik lifted a match-high nine digs.
 
For the match, Ramapo posted a 40-12 edge in kills and hit .359 as a team. The Roadrunners collected all nine service aces in the match, while the Dolphins finished with a 5-4 lead in total team blocks. Cedric Ellison (Worcester, Mass.) and Holiday joined DiGiovanni with two blocks each.
 
Thursday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 0-3 overall on the season and to 0-3 in Skyline Conference play. Next up for the Dolphins is a trip to Yeshiva on February 12. Match time is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
