Jersey City, N.J. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team closed out the Skyline Conference schedule on Tuesday night with a 3-0 loss on the road at NJCU. The Gothic Knights took Tuesday's match by scores of 22-25, 21-25 and 18-25. Senior
Chris Bacchi (Hicksville, N.Y.) led the way with eight kills, while classmate
Michael Sin (Hicksville, N.Y.) handed out 27 assists.
Bacchi was one of only four Mount Saint Vincent players to record a kill in the contest and he added five digs and three total blocks to his kill total.
Joe Ecock (Brooklyn, N.Y.) rounded out the match with seven kills for the Dolphins and also lifted three digs.
Freshman
Brett Holiday (Stratford, N.J.) had a strong all-around match on Tuesday for the Dolphins after he put away six kills and hit .308. He also led the team with four total blocks, including two solos and posted a pair of service aces.
James DiGiovanni (Bay Shore, N.Y.) rounded out the quartet in the kill column with six winners to go along with one dig.
Sin continued his steady season for Mount Saint Vincent against the Gothic Knights after totaling 27 helpers. He rounded out the night with three digs and half of the team's four service aces.
Besmir Arslani paced the Gothic Knight attack with a match-high 13 kills to go along with five digs. Patryk Rusznica added eight winners, with Justin Beaumont leading the team with 20 assists and six digs.
Overall on the night, NJCU put down 35 kills to 27 for the Mount and lifted eight more digs after totaling 29. Mount Saint Vincent did lead the way with five total team blocks on the night.
The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 11-15 overall on the season and to 4-10 in the Skyline Conference. The Dolphins will close out the regular season on Wednesday night when they travel to Vassar. The match with the Brewers is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
