Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball squad extended its winning streak to three games on Monday with a 4-2 win over Montreat and a 12-2 triumph over Becker. Freshman

After falling behind 2-0 to Montreat, the Dolphins got a run back in the home half of the first when

Trailing by a run, the Dolphins picked up a run in the fifth to tie the score at 2-2 on an unearned tally and pushed in front with a pair of runs in the sixth inning. Davis drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and O'Shea later scored on a wild pitch to give the Dolphins the final two run cushion.
Davis worked the complete game and allowed two runs on five hits. She struck out a pair of batters and also picked up an RBI and drew two walks at the plate.
O'Shea went 2-for-2 in the game and scored a pair of runs and Makayan finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Brianna Mooney (Yonkers, N.Y.) each scored runs for the Dolphins.
In the second game of the day, Mount Saint Vincent posted season-highs in runs with 12, hits with eight and RBI with nine against Becker. The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth when the Dolphins broke through with a pair of runs keyed by a Davis run scoring single.
Becker came right back to tie the score at 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth, before the Mount erupted for 10 runs in its final two at-bats. The Dolphins scored five runs in the sixth without the benefit of a hit and tacked on five more in the seventh with the help of two-run singles from Davis and
Ruby Scarantino (Brooklyn, N.Y.).
Davis made the start in the game and worked 4.0 scoreless innings in a no decision. She walked two and fanned a career-high eight.
Courtney Keane (Yonkers, N.Y.) picked up the win after working three innings in relief.
Mount Saint Vincent also got a strong effort from Davis at the plate, as she went 2-for-4 with a run and three driven in. Makayan picked up two more hits for the Mount and scored three runs in the game and Keane went 1-for-2 with a pair of RBI.
With the sweep on Monday, the Dolphins stand at 3-2 overall on the season and are just one win shy of matching their output from the 2011 campaign. The Mount will be back in action again on Tuesday when they take on Gettysburg and Albertus Magnus starting at 9:30 a.m.
