Jamaica, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team closed out the York Classic on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Medgar Evers. Following the match
Joe Ecock (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named to the event's All-Tournament Team and
Timothy Kolodny (Woodland Hills, Calif.) was honored as the Classic's top libero.
After dropping its first two matches of the tournament, Mount Saint Vincent rallied for a 25-17, 25-15 and 25-11 triumph over the Cougars. Ecock led the offensive attack for the Dolphins with a career-high 17 kills and he went on to match his career mark with six service aces. Over the three matches, Ecock was good for 3.56 kills and 1.56 digs per set and also totaled seven service aces.
Senior captain
Chris Bacchi (Hicksville, N.Y.) also had a strong contest after putting away 13 winners and hitting an efficient .550. He also totaled four service aces and lifted five digs in the victory.
Michael Sin (Hicksville, N.Y.) also had a career day for the Dolphins after he handed out a career-high 43 assists against Medgar Evers. He bested his previous mark by one and is now averaging 8.11 assists per set during the 2012 season. Kolodny rounded out the match leading all players with 13 digs to go along with an assist and a total block.
With the victory of Medgar Evers, Mount Saint Vincent stands at 7-12 overall on the season. The Dolphins will be back in action after Spring Break when they travel to St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on March 20 for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference match.
