New York, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team dropped a tough 3-2 decision on the road Tuesday night at the City College of New York.
Zana Daluz (Pawtucket, R.I.) picked up her team leading seventh double-double in the match for the Dolphins, who fell for the second time in three matches after building a 2-0 lead.
Mount Saint Vincent took two back-and-forth sets to open Tuesday's match and used an 11-3 run to close the opening stanza and take the early advantage. Kills from

Ashleigh Scozzari (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and
Kristine DeMasi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) fueled the Mount Saint Vincent rally.
The Dolphins carried the surge into the second set and quickly built a 7-1 lead on the strength of kills from Booker and DeMasi and a service ace from Daluz. Leading by as many as seven in the set, the Dolphins held off a late 5-1 CCNY run to take the commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
The third set saw the Mount gain a 16-13 advantage before CCNY battled back to knot the score at 20-20. A Mount Saint Vincent service error started a 6-2 run for the Beavers that allowed them to get on the board and cut the Dolphins' lead overall to 2-1.
After falling behind 8-2 in the fourth frame, Mount Saint Vincent rallied to tie the score after a DeMasi kill brought it to 14-14. The Dolphins would later pull in front 19-18, but CCNY scored seven of the final 10 points to square the match at two sets apiece.
The fifth set was played inside a four point window on Tuesday, but the Dolphins were never able to gain the advantage. CCNY hit .286 in the deciding set, committing just two errors.
CCNY featured three players in double-figures in kills on Tuesday, led by a match-high 23 from Dalliana Toussaint. She hit .286 for the Beavers on the night and also led the team with 26 digs. Elsie Almiron totaled 11 kills, a match-high seven aces and 13 digs, while Saye-Chantal Joseph posted 10 winners and a pair of blocks.
Scozzari paced the Dolphins with 12 kills on the night and two blocks. She has now reached at least 10 kills in a match 10 times, including each of the last three, and leads the team in the category with 162.
Booker posted double-figures with 11 kills and was one of four Dolphins with two service aces in the match. DeMasi led the Mount with five of the team's 16 aces and also chipped in with five kills and 12 digs.
Freshman
Carly Jenkinson (Pacifica, Calif.) reached a career-high in digs on Tuesday and led all players in the match with 42. She also handed out an assist and posted a pair of aces for the Mount.
Daluz finished the night with 23 assists and 12 digs for the Dolphins. She recorded a new career-high with five kills to go along with a pair of aces.
Tuesday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 8-10 overall on the season and sees it mark in five set matches fall to 1-4. The Dolphins will be back on the court again Thursday night when they play host to John Jay. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
