, N.Y.The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball team dropped a pair of road league games on Sunday afternoon at Sage. The Dolphins were shutout in the opener 9-0 and dropped the back end of the set by a score of 10-2. Junior Marni O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) went 2-for-2 for the Mount in the second game with an RBI.

In its first game after being no-hit by NYU-POLY in game two on Saturday, Mount Saint Vincent was one hit in the opener on Sunday. Leeann Cerbone (Bronx, N.Y.) picked up the Dolphins' only hit in the game with a leadoff single in the fifth inning.

 
Sage plated a pair of runs in the first inning and then broke the game open with four tallies in its second at-bat. Chantal Ceragioli had the big blow in the inning with a two-run double to left field.

 
The Gators outhit the Dolphins in the opener 11-1, with Tiffany Bezio going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles. She also scored twice and drove in a run. Ceragioli finished the game 1-for-3 with a runs scored and four RBI.

 
Kelsey Newberg earned the win for Sage in game one after working the complete game one hit shutout. She struck out nine in the game against just one walk. Kelly Donlon (Carmel, N.Y.) took the loss after working 2.0 innings and allowing four earned runs on five hits.

 
Trailing 1-0 heading to the top of the fourth in game two, Mount Saint Vincent battled back to tie the score after stringing together three hits in the inning. O'Shea led off the frame with a double and later advanced to third on a throwing error. That set up a run scoring single to right from Cody Velez (Bronx, N.Y.) to bring the Dolphins even in the middle innings.

 
Sage responded with two runs in the home half of the stanza, but the Dolphins stayed within striking distance with another run in the fifth. The Mount got to within 3-2 after O'Shea drove in Cerbone with her second double of the game.

 
Sage would pull away in its last two at-bats in game two, scoring seven runs which included five in the sixth inning. Ashley Eberle drove in a pair of runs in the five run sixth with a double for the Gators.

 
O'Shea and Cerbone scored the runs for the Dolphins in the game with Amanda Oliva (New City, N.Y.) joining O'Shea with two hits. Oliva went 2-for-2 for the Dolphins.

 
Sage got another strong pitching performance with Jackie Petteys earning the complete game win. She allowed seven hits and fanned 10 Dolphins. Ashley Winn (Queens, N.Y.) took the loss, allowing two earned runs on eight hits.

 
The sweep on Sunday drops Mount Saint Vincent to 1-17 overall on the season and to 0-6 in league play. The Dolphins will step out of league on Tuesday when they host New York City Tech on Tuesday. First pitch at Westchester Community College is set for 4:00 p.m.
