Albertus Magnus Final Stats
New Haven, Conn. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team returned to action on Sunday and swept a pair of non-conference matches. The Dolphins defeated St. Joseph's-Brooklyn by scores of 25-10, 25-8 and 25-9 and the downed host Albertus Magnus by scores of 25-11, 25-14 and 25-13. Senior David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) led the Dolphins with 25 kills over the two matches, including the 1,000th of his career in the opener against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn. 
 
Guerrero opened the day with 15 kills against the Bears and an even .500 hitting percentage. He entered the match 10 kills shy of the 1,000 mark and collected it with ease after committing just four errors in the match. The senior outside hitter also added two digs and an assist to the win. 
 
All seven players that appeared in the match for the Dolphins collected at least two kills, with A.J. Cataldi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Chris Bacchi (Hicksville, N.Y.) adding five each. Bacchi also chipped in with seven digs and equaled the match-high with three aces, joining Joe Ecock (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who also totaled three. 
 
Senior setter Michael Quinn (Wantagh, N.Y.) led all players with 28 assists in the match to go with two aces, two digs and a pair of kills. Michael Sin (Hicksville, N.Y.) also had a strong outing for the Dolphins with three kills, four digs and a pair of total blocks. 
 
Overall in the match, Mount Saint Vincent hit an impressive .490 as a team after finishing off 35 kills and committing just 10 errors in 51 total attempts. The Dolphins did not hit under .438 in any of the three sets against the Bears. 
 
Against Albertus Magnus, Guerrero was again the team leader in kills with 10 and had another efficient match after hitting .421 for the Dolphins. He recorded a double-double against the Falcons after lifting 11 digs to go along with three aces. 
 
For the second match of the day, the Dolphins used a balanced attack with Mark Sargente (Commack, N.Y.) and Ecock each totaling nine kills. Bacchi collected eight winners for the Dolphins to go along with seven defensive digs and a block. 
 
Quinn continued his steady play for the Dolphins with 22 assists against Albertus Magnus and also added five digs and a pair of blocks. Sin also added seven digs and a pair of kills for Mount Saint Vincent. 
 
Overall, Mount Saint Vincent hit .427 in the match and totaled 37 digs. The Dolphins also recorded four total team blocks in the contest. 
The sweep on Sunday gives Mount Saint Vincent three straight wins and improves its record to 8-2 overall on the season. The Dolphins will look to make it four in a row on Monday when they play host to Medgar Evers. The non-conference match is set for 7:00 p.m.
