Final Stats

Yonkers, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer team dropped its sixth straight contest on Saturday evening following a 7-0 loss to Farmingdale St. Sophomore Andres Romero (Port Chester, N.Y.) led the team with two shots, while senior Javier Mandujano (Norwalk, Conn.) made seven saves in goal.

The Rams got on the board early on Saturday, potting the eventual game winning goal in the eighth minute. Joseph Dettori recorded his first of two goals in the game at the 7:31 mark for the visitors. Farmingdale St. would add three more goals before the intermission to take a commanding 4-0 lead into halftime.

After scoring their fourth goal of the first half in the final minute, the Rams came out just as strong to start the second half when John Popovic scored inside the first 40 seconds to push the advantage to 5-0. Nick Herrera and Tyler Balzer would add insurance goals late in the period to secure the win.

Making his first start between the pipes in 2011, Mandujano finished up the contest with seven stops, including five after halftime. Michael Valverde gets credit for the shutout after making five saves for the Rams on the night.

Overall in the contest, Farmingdale St. held the edge in shots 23-6 and in corner kicks 7-1. Fouls in the match were called 18-8 against Mount Saint Vincent.

The loss drops the Mount to 1-8 overall on the season and to 1-6 in league play. The Dolphins will look to stop the six game slide on Monday when they travel to Staten Island. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
