a pair of non-conference opponents on Saturday afternoon, falling to USMMA-Kings Point and the United State Coast Guard Academy 3-0. The Dolphins fell to Kings Point by set scores of 15-25, 20-25 and 10-25 before dropping the Coast Guard match by scores of 6-25, 20-25 and 6-25.

 

In the first match of the day against Kings Point, Irma Nepomuceno (Bronx, N.Y.) led the Dolphins with four kills to go along with five digs. Kallie Maglione (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) also posted four winners for the Mount and chipped in with a service ace and a pair of digs.

 

Sophomore Erin MacBride (Merrick, N.Y.) handed out 15 assists for the Dolphins and Morgane Booker (East Providence, R.I.) provided a pair of total blocks, three kills and five defensive digs.

 

Overall in the match, Mount Saint Vincent hit .074 and posted 42 digs. Renee Reynes (Bronx, N.Y.) led the Dolphins in the digs category with 15.

 

Against Coast Guard in the second match of the day, the Dolphins hit just .056 as a team and recorded just 13 kills in the contest. Kristine DeMasi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the Dolphins with five winners and was the only Mount Saint Vincent player to record double-figures in digs with her 13.

 

Jessica Williams (Cornwall, N.Y.) finished off four kills against Coast Guard and also added an assist and a pair of digs. MacBride finished the day with eight helpers and one of the Dolphins' two service aces.

 

After defeating Yeshiva 3-1 in its season opener, Mount Saint Vincent has dropped four straight matches and stands at 1-4 overall on the season. The Dolphins will return to action again on Thursday when they travel to cross-town rival Lehman. The match with the Lightning is slated for 7:00 p.m.
