night with a 10-4 loss to league rival Richard Stockton. Four different Dolphins scored goals in the game and senior net minder Mike Nuzzi (Westbury, N.Y.) put in a strong effort between the pipes, making 24 saves.

 

Stockton opened the game with two quick goals, before the Dolphins came back to tie the score at 2-2 after goals from Chris Guastamacchia (Goshen, N.Y.) and Dan Cohen (Ardsley, N.Y.). Mike Visintin (Yonkers, N.Y.) netted his 13th goal of the second with just over one minute left in the second quarter, as the Mount headed into halftime down by just a goal at 4-3.

 

The Ospreys went on to outscore the Dolphins 6-1 after halftime, with the Mount's only goal coming at the 6:11 mark of the third quarter from Bryan Stein (Larchmont, N.Y.). It was Stein's second marker of the season. Stockton used strong special teams play to open the eventual six goal decision by scoring a pair of man advantage goals and a man down goal in the second half.

 

Cohen led the Dolphins with a goal and an assist for two points on the night. He was the only Dolphin with multiple points in the contest. Cohen also led the team with five groundballs in the contest. Cody Green (Waldwick, N.J.) caused a team-high four turnovers in the game and also picked up three groundballs.

 

Nuzzi was strong in the net all night for the Dolphins. He stopped several Stockton chances from in tight on the night on his way to a season-high in saves. He stopped 10 shots in the first quarter alone and 15 of his 24 saves came in the first half. He also chipped in with two groundballs on the night.  

 

Stockton was led by Matt Bell who finished the night with six points on five goals and an assist. He also picked up a pair of groundballs for the Ospreys. Matt Bologno chipped in with four points on three goals and a helper.

 

Overall in the game Mount Saint Vincent was outshot 58-25 on the night. The Ospreys also held a 41-27 edge in groundballs and won nine of the 17 face-offs taken in the contest. Guastamacchia won the Mount's eight draws and also chipped in with three groundballs.

 

The loss closes out the season for the Mount at 7-9 overall and 1-5 in the Skyline Conference. The Dolphins will play an exhibition game on Saturday afternoon against the SUNY New Paltz club team. The contest will get underway at 1:00 p.m. at Tibbetts Brook Park.
