Men’s Lacrosse Closes Out 2008 Campaign With 16-5 Win At Mitchell

closed out his career with a six point game, scoring five goals and adding an assist.

Reynolds was one of seven different goal scorers on the day for the Dolphins. He led the way with his five goals and was followed by Chris Beerman (Floral Park, NY) with three goals and Mike Nuzzi (Westbury, NY) who finished with a pair of markers. Brian Zambri (Brooklyn, NY), Tom Egan (Nanuet, NY), Ken Valentine (Centereach, NY) and Stan Wong (Merrick, NY) were the other goal scorers for the Mount.

Russ Holland (Brooklyn, NY) also had a big day for the Dolphins, as he finished the contest with nine assists. Bill Downes (Barkhamsted, CT) finished with two helpers, while James O'Connell (Elmont, NY), Reynolds and Zambri each assisted on one goal.

Egan played the full 60:00 in goal for the Mount in his final collegiate game. He made eight saves for the Dolphins, including three in the fourth quarter.

Overall in the game, Mount Saint Vincent held a commanding edge in shots at 41-24. The Dolphins also held the advantage in groundballs at 57-47, while Mitchell won 13 of the 25 face-offs in the game.

Sunday marked the final time that the members of the senior class would wear the blue and gold for Mount Saint Vincent. Derek Charlton (Yonkers, NY), Wong, O'Connell, Reynolds, and Egan all played their final game on Sunday. This senior class is the first four year graduating class in program history.

With the win, Mount Saint Vincent closes out the 2008 campaign with an overall record of 4-11.
