FARMINGDALE, NY –
The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Lacrosse team fell on the road at Farmingdale State on Saturday afternoon by a score of 16-5. Ryan O'Dougherty (Morristown, NJ) led the Dolphins with a goal and a pair of assists in the contest. Freshman Mike Shea (Congers, NY) finished the game with a goal and an assist for Mount Saint Vincent.

Chris Beerman (Floral Park, NY) opened the scoring and gave the Mount a 1-0 lead at the 10:16 mark of the first quarter off a feed from O'Dougherty for his third goal of the season. After a Farmingdale State goal at the 9:25 mark, O'Dougherty pushed the Mount in front again on a pass from Shea at 6:48.

Following the O'Dougherty tally, Mount Saint Vincent would be held scoreless until Jason Reynolds (Centereach, NY) tallied with 11:29 left in the third to cut Farmingdale's advantage to 9-3. Shea would follow with a goal of his own to get the Mount to within five, but that would be as close as the Dolphins would get the remainder of the contest.

Bill Downes (Barkhamsted, CT) scored the fifth goal for the Dolphins, while Russ Holland (Brooklyn, NY) added a pair of assists for the Mount. Ken Valentine (Centereach, NY) picked up a team-high six groundballs on Saturday, while Mike Nuzzi (Westbury, NY) finished the contest with five. In addition to his goal, Beerman won a pair of face-offs.

Nuzzi made 18 saves in goal for Mount Saint Vincent, including nine in the second quarter. Tom Egan (Nanuet, NY) made seven stops for the Dolphins and also picked up a groundball.

The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 2-9 overall on the season and to 0-3 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Monday night when they travel to Montclair State. Face-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
