Men’s Lacrosse Falls To Richard Stockton

Jason Reynolds paced the Mount with three goals against league rival Richard Stockton.
YONKERS, NY –
The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Lacrosse team fell on Wednesday night by a score of 18-6 to Richard Stockton at Tibbetts Brook Park. Jason Reynolds (Centereach, NY) led the Mount attack with three goals in the contest.

Stockton controlled the game from the start; as it scored seven times in the opening quarter and went on to hold an 11-0 advantage at halftime. Shots in the period favored Stockton by a 26-8 margin.

The Dolphins got on the board with 10:25 remaining in the third quarter when Mike Shea (Congers, NY) scored an unassisted marker. Shea's tally was the first of three straight for the Mount, as Ryan O'Dougherty (Morristown, NJ) and Reynolds followed with even strength goals.

Mount Saint Vincent would add three more goals in the fourth quarter on Wednesday with Reynolds finding the back of the cage twice and Bill Downes (Barkhamsted, CT) also adding a tally for the Dolphins.

Ken Valentine (Centereach, NY) led the team with six groundballs on the night, while Brian Zambri (Brooklyn, NY) picked up five groundballs and finished with an assist. Chris Beerman (Floral Park, NY) led the Dolphins with 10 face-off wins.

Overall in the contest, Richard Stockton held the edge in shots at 49-19 and in groundballs 36-32. Stockton won 16 of the 27 face-offs in the contest and converted 4-11 extra-man opportunities. Mount Saint Vincent was successful on one of its four extra-man chances and turnovers in the game went 30-19 against the Mount.

The loss snaps a two game winning streak for Mount Saint Vincent and drops it to 2-8 overall on the season and to 0-2 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Saturday when they travel to Farmingdale State. Face-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
