Mike Shea (Congers, NY) scored three goals and added an assist, but the Men's Lacrosse team at the College of Mount Saint Vincent fell on the road at Maritime by a score of 19-5 in its Skyline Conference opener.

helped on two others for the Dolphins in the contest.
After Maritime scored the first four goals of the contest, Reynolds got the Dolphins on the board off of a feed from Shea at the 7:25 mark of the opening quarter. Maritime answered with three straight goals, before Shea scored his first of the evening to pull the Mount to within five with 9:35 left before the half.
Following Shea's first marker of the night, Maritime would run off a string of 12 straight goals to secure the win. The Dolphins would score the final three goals of the contest, including a man-up tally from Shea with just under two and a half minutes left in the tilt. Two of Shea's three tallies on the night came with the man advantage.
Ken Valentine (Centereach, NY) led the team with eight groundballs on the night, while Chris Guastamacchia (Goshen, NY) picked up four and won a team-high seven face-offs. Shea and Cody Green (Waldwick, NJ) each picked up three groundballs for the Mount on Wednesday. Brain Zambi (Brooklyn, NY) had a solid night as he posted an assist and finished with three groundballs.
Tom Egan (Nanuet, NY) played the first half in goal for the Mount and made seven saves and picked up a pair of groundballs. Mike Nuzzi (Westbury, NY) played the final 30:00 for the Dolphins and made six stops and also colleted two groundballs.
Maritime was led by Max Ferguson who posted three goals in the winning effort. Starting goalkeeper Colin Gallagher made four saves in the first half for the Privateers.
For the game, Maritime held the advantage in shots 47-28 and in groundballs 48-34. Mount Saint Vincent was successful on 10 of its 23 clearing attempts in the contest and went 2-6 in extra-man opportunities.
With the loss, Mount Saint Vincent falls to 0-7 overall on the season and to 0-1 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Saturday when they travel to Wells. Face-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
