Winter nets lone Mount Saint Vincent goal during fourth quarter: Egan: 16 saves; Dolphins travel to Western Connecticut Wednesday night

(New York, NY) – Sophomore Tom Egan (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet HS) turned in another outstanding effort with 16 saves and junior Brian Winter (Islip, NY/Islip HS) scored during the fourth quarter to improve his 2006 scoring total to 14 goals, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Lacrosse team lost 12-1 to Kean University on Saturday. With the loss, the Dolphins fall to 1-6 while Kean improves to 6-5.

Kean jumped all over Mount Saint Vincent from the opening face-off as the Cougars took a 6-0 lead after the first quarter and led 10-0 at halftime. Kean enjoyed an efficient shooting game as they scored 12 goals while taking only 29 shots, and out-shot the Mount 29-17. The Cougars did all of their scoring during the first three quarters as the game was a slow one played in heavy rain and snow.

Mount Saint Vincent broke into the scoring column with just over six minutes left in the game as Winter scored a beautiful goal off of an individual move to the goal and an outside shot. Egan was his usual spectacular self and has now made at least 15 saves during every game this season. He has also stopped nearly 55% of the 146 shots he has faced this season.

Mount Saint Vincent will look get back to its winning ways when they travel to Western Connecticut State on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m..
