New York, N.Y. – After winning a five set thriller on Tuesday against Yeshiva, the College of Mount Saint
Vincent Men's Volleyball team dispatched the Maccabees in three games in the rematch on
Thursday night. The Dolphins took the match by game scores of 30-19, 30-20, 30-22. Senior
Rob Hockenjos (West Hempstead, N.Y.) paced the visiting Dolphins with 13 kills on the night.
Hockenjos continued his strong senior season with the match-high in kills and hit a blistering .650 for the Mount. He did not commit a hitting error on the night and also chipped in eight digs and five total blocks for the Dolphins.
David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) and Chris Bacchi (Hicksville, N.Y.) also had solid nights for the Mount as each posted seven kills in the win. Guerrero added three service aces, while Bacchi lifted six digs.
Sophomore middle blocker Matt Krauszer (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) totaled a team-high 10 digs on the night for the Mount to go along with five kills. Junior setter Michael Quinn (Wantagh, N.Y.) contributed three kills, seven digs and 21 assists to the win.
Zanvy Grauman paced the Macs on Thursday with 10 kills and a .529 hitting percentage. Joseph Bajtner added a match-high 24 assists for Yeshiva and David Kahana lifted 13 digs.
The win completes the Skyline Conference regular season schedule for the Dolphins. With their 10-0 record this season they have combined to go 18-0 over the past two seasons in regular season Skyline Conference play and have won a total of 21 straight Skyline regular season contests dating back to 2008.
Mount Saint Vincent stands at 13-7 overall on the season and has moved to 4-2 in NECVA Metro Division play with the win. The Dolphins will be back in action this weekend at the MIT Tournament in Cambridge, Mass.
