Pufahl registers 10 kills, Dotoratos has solid all-around night; MSV heads to weekend tournament at MIT

Chris Dotoratos registered 29 assists and 3.5 total blocks
during the early part of the 2007 season, registering a team-high 10 kills, while hitting .273, and fellow sophomore Chris Dotoratos (Bronx, NY/Salesian) chipped in 29 assists and a team-high 3.5 total blocks, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team lost its third straight match, 3-0 to NECVA Metro rival Ramapo College during a Wednesday night match played at Ramapo. With the loss, Mount Sai nt Vincent is now 3-6 overall and 1-3 in NECVA Metro play heading into this weekend's Tournament at MIT.

Ramapo swept the match with scores of 30-14, 30-27, and 30-21.

Overall, the Mount hit the ball well, combining for 29 kills against only 16 errors, but defensively it was a tough night for the Dolphins. The Mount combined for only 39 digs with senior Dan Williams (Brick Township, NJ/St. Rose) and junior Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME/Mount Blue HS) each breaking double-digit dig totals. Williams had a team-high 14 digs to go with his nine kills, while Ross amassed 10 digs and eight kills.

This weekend, the Dolphins will compete four times, beginning with a 5:00 p.m. match with Bard College on Saturday. From there the Dolphins face Mount Ida at 7:00 p.m. On Sunday, the Mount will square off with host MIT at 10:00 a.m. and then have at least one more match as the tournament's championship and consolation brackets take place. Up to the minute information and results will be available on the MIT Tournament website beginning Saturday evening.
