New York, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team won its second straight
match on Saturday with a 3-1 triumph at York (N.Y.). Scores of the match were 36-38, 30-16, 30-25, and 30-18 in favor of the Dolphins. Sophomore
David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) posted a match-high 17 kills, while senior
T.J. Pufahl (Bethpage, N.Y.) finished up with 10.
Guerrero added five digs and a pair of service aces to his 17 winners and Pufahl finished tied with a match-high five service aces, as the Dolphins posted 16 in the match. Matt Krauszer (Lindenhurst, N.J.) finished with nine kills and nine defensive digs, while Justin Amaral (Warwick, R.I.) posted eight winners, nine digs and five aces.
Sophomore John Furka (Massapequa, N.Y.) finished with seven kills for the Dolphins and recorded a match-high 11 digs to go along with a solo block. Rob Hockenjos (West Hempstead, N.Y.) also posted seven kills for Mount Saint Vincent.
Senior Chris Dotoratos (Bronx, N.Y.) led all players with 27 assists in the contest and added four digs, while Michael Quinn (Wantagh, N.Y.) finished with 20 helpers and a pair of kills.
Overall in the match, Mount Saint Vincent recorded 60 kills, 45 digs and 3.0 total team blocks. York finished with just 23 kills and just a pair of aces. Jean Eveillard paced the Cardinals with 10 kills.
The win moves Mount Saint Vincent to 6-7 overall on the season. Next up for the Dolphins is a NECVA Metro Division match at Vassar. The match with the Brewers in Poughkeepsie is set for 7:00 p.m.
