T. J. Pufahl (Bethpage, NY) led the Mount with 15 kills on the night and was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week earlier in the day. Teammate
David Guerrero (East Meadow, NY), who posted eight winners against CCNY was named the Skyline's Rookie of the Week.
Pufahl also had a pair of digs and four total blocks in the win for the Mount. He was supported by Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME) who had nine winners in his first action of the season. Half of Guerrero's eight winners on Monday came in the middle game, which the Mount squeaked out late.
On the defensive side, Phil Anselmo (Bronx, NY) paced the Dolphins with 12 digs on the night. Guerrero also recorded double-digit digs with 10, while Ross chipped in with five. Fitzroy Lawson (Kingston, Jamaica) had a huge night at the net, as he posted 10 total blocks.
Junior Chris Dotoratos (Bronx, NY) posted a season-high 21 assists in the match, while freshman and fellow setter Mike Quinn (Wantagh, NY) chipped in with 15 helpers in the win.
The win moves the Mount to 2-1 overall on the season. The Dolphins will hit the road for matches on Thursday at Lehman and Sunday at SUNYIT in Utica, before returning home to square-off with NECVA divisional rival Ramapo on February 4.
