Rob Hockenjos (West Hempstead, N.Y.) led all players in the match with 12 kills.
Hockenjos hit .364 in the match for the Mount, committing just four attack errors in 22 total attempts. He closed out a solid all-around match with the Dolphins' only service ace and four defensive digs. He posted 13 of the Mount's 31 total points in the match.
Junior David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) finished the night with five kills for Mount Saint Vincent and also finished with four digs. Guerrero was named to the Charlie Wrublewski All-Tournament Team this past weekend and was also named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week earlier on Monday.
Michael Quinn (Wantagh, N.Y.) contributed a pair of kill in the match to go along with three digs, a solo block and a match-high 25 assists.
For the match the Dolphins hit just .021, finishing off 28 kills. The Dolphins lifted 20 digs as a unit to 36 for Stevens and were out-blocked in the match 10-2.
Stevens (5-1, 1-0 NECVA Metro) finished the night hitting .361 as a team, including an impressive .812 team hitting percentage in the opening game. In the first game the Ducks finished 14 kills in 16 total attacks, committing just one error.
Bryant DeFranco led the way for the visitors with nine winners and a .438 hitting percentage. He also picked up three digs and three total blocks. SteFan PremDas posted eight kills for the Ducks and finished with a strong .545 hitting percentage.
Overall Stevens collected 44 kills in the match and assisted on 41 of those, with Brandt Grobeis picking up 22 helpers. Derek Mulvey came on in the third came and handed out 16 assists.
The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 3-4 overall on the season and to 0-1 in NECVA Metro Division play. The Dolphins will play their third nationally ranked opponent in a five day stretch when they host #11 Ramapo on Thursday night. The match is slated for 7:00 p.m.
