Russell Butts (Long Beach, NY/Long Beach HS) had a monster night with 21 kills, 11 digs, 4 blocks, and a .485 attack percentage, and sophomore
Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME/Mount Blue HS) added a double-double with 14 kills and 14 digs as the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team broke a three-match losing streak with a 3-0 sweep of Yeshiva during a match played at Mount Saint Vincent. With the win, the Mount improves to 7-16 overall and 4-8 in the NECVA Metro Conference.
Mount Saint Vincent swept the Macs (1-17, 0-14 Metro) by scores of 30-17, 30-13, and 30-22 during a commanding effort in which the team combined for a .312 attack percentage. The effort was made possible thanks to an outstanding performance by freshman setter Chris Dotoratos (Bronx, NY/Salesian), who compiled 48 assists to go with 14 digs. Mount Saint Vincent finished the match with 55 kills against only 21 errors, 66 digs, and 9.5 total blocks.
Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Thursday, March 23 when they host NJCU for their final home match of the 2006 regular season. Prior to the match, Russell Butts will be honored during Senior Night prior to the final home match of his career. The Mount's season concludes on Saturday, March 25 when they travel to Bard for a 2:00 p.m. match.
