(Riverdale, NY) – Freshman
Chris Dotoratos (Bronx, NY/Salesian) enjoyed the finest night of his young career with a career-high 53 assists and 24 digs for his second double-double of the season, and the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team broke a five-match losing streak tonight with a thrilling 3-2 over Polytechnic. With their second win over Polytechnic this season, the Dolphins improve to 6-13 overall and 3-5 in the NECVA Metro Conference.
While Dotoratos was shining in the setter's role, it was the trio of Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME/Mount Blue HS), Russell Butts (Long Beach, NY/Long Beach HS), and TJ Pufahl (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage HS) that benefitted from Dotoratos's brilliance. The three-some combined for 62 of Mount Saint Vincent's 75 total kills, with Butts slamming home a season-high 24 kills, while Ross added 21 and Pufahl amassed 17 kills. All three registered double-doubles as they added 19, 20, and 20 digs, respectively. Butts also added 7.5 total blocks. Also having a big night was junior Dan Williams (Brick Township, NJ/St. Mary's), who registered a career-high 32 digs.
Overall, Mount Saint Vincent hit a solid .163 as a team and combined for 21 total blocks.
Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Thursday, March 9 when they host CCNY at 7:00 p.m. and look to extend the winning streak to two.
