(Riverdale, NY) – Freshman
Chris Dotoraros (Bronx, NY/Salesian) had the finest night of his young career with his first double-double, and sophomore
Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME/Mount Blue HS) added five kills and two total blocks, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team lost its third straight match, 3-0 to Ramapo College – the nation's 12th ranked team – on Tuesday night. With the loss, the Dolphins fall to 5-11 for the 2006 season, including a 2-5 NECVA Metro record.
Mount Saint Vincent was swept, 22-30, 19-30, and 14-30 as they lost both matches in the season series with Ramapo. However, the loss happened despite the efforts of several young Mount players. Dotoratos was simply terrific, amassing team highs in both assists (17) and digs (15), while Ross was also outstanding once again. The Mount also received an incredible night of play by senior Russell Butts (Long Beach, NY/Long Beach HS), who registered a team-high six kills, while adding six digs.
The Mount had a tough hitting night as they combined for a .039 attack percentage, while Ramapo combined for a .281 attack percentage. The Roadrunners also enjoyed a 15.5-6.5 blocking advantage.
Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, March 4 when they travel to the Stevens Institute of Technology for a tri-match with the Ducks and Lees-McRae. The action begins at 11:00 a.m.
