New York, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team snapped its two game losing
skid on Tuesday night with a 3-0 sweep at CCNY. Scores of the match went 30-22, 30-20 and 30-22 in favor of the Dolphins. The Mount was led by
Matt Krauszer (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) who posted eight kills, while sophomore
David Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.) recorded 16 digs.
Krauszer hit an even .300 in the match posting his eight kills, while making just a pair of attack errors. Junior Rob Hockenjos (West Hempstead, N.Y.) chipped in with seven winners in the match and freshman Quamel McLauren (Long Beach, N.Y.) finished with six.
Sophomore Michael Quinn (Wantagh, N.Y.) had a strong match for the Mount, pacing the team with 28 assists. He also recorded nine defensive digs and a pair of kills in the winning effort. Chris Bacchi (Hicksville, N.Y.) also recorded nine digs in the contest, while Krauszer and Justin Amaral (Warwick, R.I.) each lifted seven digs for the Mount.
Guerrero finished the match with a season-high 16 digs to lead the team and also posted a total block and five kills. John Furka (Massapequa, N.Y.), Krauszer and Hockenjos all finished the match with three total blocks for the Dolphins.
As a team the Mount hit .320 (43-10-103) as a team and assisted on 35 of their 43 kills. The squad also finished with 7.0 total blocks and six service aces in the win.
The win squares Mount Saint Vincent's overall record at 2-2 on the season. The Dolphins will be back in action for a Skyline Conference match at Bard on January 29. The road match with the Raptors is slated for 7:00 p.m.
