Men's Volleyball sweeps Yeshiva University on Senior Night to improve to 13-15

Ross nets double-double; Pufahl sizzles; Dolphins travel to SUNY New Paltz on Monday for regular season finale

(Riverdale, NY) - Junior Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME/Mount Blue HS) registered a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs, and and three service aces, and sophomore T.J. Pufahl (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage HS) had 10 kills and two service aces as the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Volleyball team swept Yeshiva University, 3-0 on Tuesday night for their fifth win during their last six matches. On Senior Night, where Dan Williams (Brick Township, NJ/St. Rose) was honored prior to the final home match of his outstanding career, the Mount rallied to make Williams's send-off a memorable one as the Dolphins swept Yeshiva for the second time this season to improve to 13-15 overall and 5-8 in NECVA Metro play.

Mount Saint Vincent swept the match 30-7, 30-10, and 30-14 as they hit .379 as a team and combined for 53 total digs during a terrific overall effort.

While Ross and Pufahl had the hot hands, the story of the night was Williams, who was an integral member of the 2005 ECAC Metro Finalist team that finished the season ranked #12 in the nation, and was equally important to a rebuilding process during the last two seasons that saw the Mount improve from 7-18 in 2006 to their current 13-15 record in 2007. Prior to Tuesday's match, Williams was honored for a career that included more than 500 kills, 700 digs, and 100 total blocks, as well as his service and leadership to the Men's Volleyball program and the Athletics Department as a whole. Williams responded with seven kills, a match-high 13 digs, and a .438 attack percentage.

Williams and the Mount are not finished for the 2007 season, the Dolphins take to the court one more time on Monday, March 26 when they travel to SUNY New Paltz at 7:00 p.m.
