afternoon by Stevens, falling 12-0 in game one and then 6-5 in a heartbreaking eight inning contest. The Dolphins managed just five hits over the two games.

Stevens got off to w quick start in the opener, jumping out to a 3-0 lead after three at bats. The Ducks put the game away in the fourth and fifth innings with nine combined runs, including five in the fifth. Lauren Hurley connected on a home run in the inning after a two out error extended the frame.

Amanda Petrocelli stifled the Mount allowing just three singles in 5.0 innings of work. She fanned nine and walked just one. She was supported by Hurley who went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and three RBI. The top three batters in Stevens' lineup combined for 10 hits, eight runs scored and eight RBI.

In game two the Dolphins again fell behind early after Stevens scored three times in the top of the first. But the Mount responded with a run in the home half of the frame and then knotted the scored at 3-3 in the fourth

The Dolphins would take advantage of some sloppy play by the Ducks in the two run fourth, as Megan Gonzalez (Fishers, Ind.) and Kat Pumarejo (Carmel, N.Y.) each scored on a throwing error by Stevens' Clair Strom.

The two teams would struggle to get anything going after the fourth until a flurry of offense in the eighth. With the international tie breaking rule in effect the Ducks scored three times to open a 6-3 advantage.

In their final at bat the Dolphins again clawed back into the game after taking advantage of two more Duck errors. Victoria Baldini (Yonkers, N.Y.) was credited with a sacrifice fly with runners on second and third after the ball was dropped. The Dolphins would get the tying run to third base but would not be able to extend the game.

The two losses on Wednesday drops Mount Saint Vincent to 2-12 overall on the season. The Dolphins will have a quick turnaround and will play tomorrow afternoon against Sarah Lawrence. The twinbill in Bronxville will get underway at 4:00 p.m.
