Softball Downs Lehman For First Win Of 2009

Lisa O'Shea homered twice and drove in seven runs at Lehman.
Tuesday when it downed Lehman 19-9. The Dolphins pounded out 10 hits in the contest and were led by junior Lisa O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) who went 3-3 with seven RBI.

After Lehman jumped out to a 1-0 lead after the first inning, the Mount scored five runs in the second, two in third, four in the fourth, two in the fifth and sixth in the seventh inning to secure the victory.

O'Shea finished the game with a pair of home runs and has now hit three round trippers in her last two games. She scored three runs to go along with the seven she drove in. She was one of three players to record at least two hits, as Marni O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) went 2-6 with four runs scored and Deana Rivera (Pelham, N.Y.) went 2-6 with a pair of runs scored.

Renee Reynes (Bronx, N.Y.) earned her first career victory in the game, firing a complete game. She surrendered 11 hits in the contest, but fanned six Lightning batters to earn the win.

The triumph moves Mount Saint Vincent to 1-5 overall on the season. The Dolphins will return to action again on Thursday when they travel to Saint Elizabeth for a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch with the Eagles is set for 3:00 p.m.
