Old Westbury, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Softball squad was swept by Old Westbury on Saturday afternoon in its first two league games of the season. The Dolphins dropped game one by a score of 8-3 and were bested in game two by a 9-1 tally.

Lisa O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) collected a pair of hits in the back end of the twinbill.
The Dolphins jumped out to a 1-0 lead in game one in the top of the second inning when Sam Reynolds (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) reached on an error forcing home Karissa Koerner (Bayside, N.Y.) with the initial run of the game.
The lead was short lived for the Dolphins as the Panthers broke the game open with a five run third inning. The big blows in the inning were a two run single from Serina Booth and a two out two-run double from Deborah Ciccarelli.
Old Westbury would add two more runs in the fourth inning, before the Dolphins plated two runs on the strength of a two-run double from Baldini. The scoring in the game was closed out when Old Westbury plated a run in the home half of the fifth to take the final 8-3 edge.
Booth, Ciccarelli and Samantha Seigler collected six of the Old Westbury's eight hits in the contest and six of the team's eight runs batted in. Cicarelli also picked up the win in the circle by firing a complete game and allowing just the three runs on six hits. Renee Reynes (Bronx, N.Y.) fell to 0-2 on the season by allowing eight earned runs on eight hits.
Ciccarelli posted the win in game two as well for Old Westbury, firing 5.0 innings in the shortened game. Angela Adamkiewicz had a huge game for the home standing Panthers, going 3-5 with a run scored and five RBI. She finished the game with a pair of doubles.
O'Shea finished with half of the Mount's four hits in game two, including a triple. Marni O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) scored the Dolphins only run and also ripped a double in the contest. Katie Shea (Flushing, N.Y.) drove in Mount's Saint Vincent's lone run in the game and also took the loss, pitching 4.1 innings and allowing nine runs on nine hits.
The sweep drops Mount Saint Vincent to 0-3 on the season. The Dolphins will open the home portion of their schedule on Sunday when they host Polytechnic. First pitch with the Blue Jays is scheduled for noon.
